Discounts yesterday

I got into an accident a few months ago, and we decided that BF would fix my car instead of taking it to a shop - total savings $600.
Well I went to pick up my new headlight and after the guy rang me up I said "is there any discounts?" "ok - I'll give you 10% off"

I was so scared to ask that question, but I kept repeating to myself "all he can say is no, all he can say is no". So I got $26 dollars off just by being brave enough to ask.

Then I went to the GAP outlet to look for a b-day present for my sister. Next door was this strange store with all this broken, discarded stuff, but there was 4 boxes of makeup, nail polish ect all still in original packaging. I asked the guy how much it cost and he said $1.00 each, I said "how about $1.00 for both" and he said sure!!!
So I got 2 tubes of mascara and two things of eyeshadow - the 4 color kind, all maybelline, all brand new in packages, for $1.00. Total cost if bought at k-mart - $18.00 - so I saved $17.00

This is great! I've also been fearful of asking for discounts or "bargaining" with anyone --- your experience will help make me braver.
