You may remember that my beloved god-daughter, Casey, was involved in a bus accident about 6 weeks ago. She's been out of hospital for about a month now, I've been going over to see her every week and although she's trying hard, she's not improving. She's hobbling around on crutches but she still can't walk and doesn't even have bladder or bowel function back. She just goes to the bathroom every couple of hours just in case.
She went in to see the doctor yesterday and he's very worried about her. She's going to be readmitted to the spinal unit for intensive physiotherapy and for reassessment.
Casey is devastated about this. She was still in good spirits before the doctor's visit but now she's very depressed and thinking that she'll never walk again. I think she will but it's going to take a lot of work to get her back to how she was before, but if the truth is known, I don't know that for sure and neither does the doctor.
If you read this, please send good thoughts or your prayers to Casey. She needs all the help she can get. Thank you.

All of my good thoughts are on their way, Rhonda.
I hope that her youth and determination will be a plus for her. I can imagine that she is pretty discouraged.
The advances in medical technology that are cropping up in the news almost daily give me hope that there will be a breakthrough for her.

I'm sure she's scared. Hoping it's just time and not anything permanent.

Two steps forward, one step back. That's what I was told when my daughter was recovering from a brain injury, and it's true. Sometimes things can look so bleak and so slow in coming around, but time is really a healer. I'm sending positive thoughts for Casey.
