    Unhappy Home alone!

Well, DH just left with our first load of belongings to go to FLorida. DD and I are home alone for 5 days! I hate it when we are home alone. Happy that we have a very large, possesive dog. Except that every little noise, he growls, and his hair stands up on the back of his neck! Then I get nervous. Does anyone else hate staying home alone?

Doesn't bother me a bit. I've never been one to get spooked easily. Course I do have a 5 lb. poodle to watch my back.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

I'm used to it now, more or less, because DH is often on the night shift and we basically don't see each other for a few days at a time. (He goes to work soon after I get home, etc.) I have a few little weird habits-- like closing the downstairs screen windows before I go to sleep-- that make me feel safer. DH just laughs at me and says to do whatever makes me feel safe.

Depends how long I'll be home alone. When DH worked 3rd shift and was gone ALLNIGHT,I got spooked easily and would get up to watch tv....If I watched tv, no one would break in lol

He rotates now 1st and 2nd and gets home about 1:30AM...it doesn't bother me much,I just go to bed like normal.I do hear things and when our dog barks,I get scared lol

I don't mind it. Gabe has gone away on business and also to visit his family in Canada for up to a week and I am ok.

I look forward to the time by myself because it doesn't happen very often. I feel safe on our street. (2 cops and a retired cop on our street)

I'm lock the door happy whether Gabe is here or not.

My main concern when he's away is his safety while on the road.

I do tend to stay up later when he's gone. I'll watch shows I don't usually watch on tv or stay up late reading.

Well, since I am NEVER home alone I would probably welcome it! LOL! I did get to stay home alone a couple of years ago when DH took the girls to visit his mom in NJ. I slept on the couch and ate whatever I want. I don't remember being scared, but I was so euphoric at actually getting to touch the tv remote I don't think I would have noticed anyone breaking in!

yea--I think I eat more while he's on 2nd and eat junk and nothing healthy. Hardly ever cook a meal, meal like I would if he was here. Most of my suppers are like popcorn, sandwich with chips, sometimes salad,potpies.......Quick and easy foods.

Katie told me the other night " I want cereal for supper every night daddy is at work.." HA!!! I dont think so!!!!
They love it when he's on 2nd...they get to eat more junk and conveince foods lol

With DH on 3rds, I often stay up until 1 or 2 am, but when he's on 1st shift, I'm in bed around 11:30.   I wonder why we do that?

I hate being alone. I don't even like it that dh is at work all day.

If I'm alone I hear noises at night and tend to not eat hardly anything except cereal.

I hope you have an uneventfull 5 days and that dh has a smooth trip.

No I lived by myself after my parents died and i am very self relient(sp ).
When Doug and my Ds would go camping I just went to bedas usual 9 pm.
I don't figure anything will happen here when they are gone that wouldn't when they are home.
I don't worry about stuff like that.
