frustration with freecycle
If this needs to be moved please do so....I can't find where I should put this.
this morning a lady called me and told me she had 6 large bags filled with baby boy clothes sizes 0-3months up to 2T. Some never worn from Old Navy, Children's Place, etc. Nice items!! She told me they would be on her porch. I was at her house within 15 minutes and guess what???? They were gone!!!!!!!! She thinks that the lady that should have been there at 7:30 this morning must have come by to get them.
I can't tell you how frustrated I am....we need those clothes!! Oh well....I'll keep trying. Has this happened to anyone here on freecycle?

I also meant to add.....she just posted minutes ago that she now has boys clothes sizes 2T. Why didn't she tell me that when I was there?

Freecycle can definitely be frustrating- DH once drove 25 minutes to get a wingback chair, only to discover the people ho were giving it away forgot to put it out!
But it is important to remember that these things are free. Unfortunately, transactions don't always go well. I was picking up some kitchen items for a patient whose house burned down while she was on bed rest during pregnancy. When I got there, th people looked at me like I was crazy- they had completely forgotten. Luckily, it was no big deal.
Other times, things work great. I got Maggie a teriffic sand box from Freecycle, and I did (eventually) get that set of wingback chairs.
Just keep telling yourself, "It is free. It is free." It might help.
And better luck next time- hope you get some boys clothes soon!

I showed up once to pick up a pet carrier a woman said she'd give me. When I got there, her dh was there and had no clue, she'd gone to work, even though she told me she was off. He did find it, though. I've had some luck with Freecycle, though. I cross my fingers that it continues!

I have kind of given up on freecycle. People never come to pick up and there seems to be little follow through.
