Default Installed the A/C today.. quite a surprise!

Growing up we always had box A/C's that you would put up in the summer and take down in the fall. For our little apartment, DH and I bought one two years ago. Last summer we had central air so we didn't use it, but this summer we don't have central air. Today was hot enought that we decided to put it in. Now, mind you, I always wondered as a kid how my father never actually dropped the A/C out the window since they're so heavy - well today DH is putting it in and then screams. I come in and he is holding the A/C by the cord. Sure enough, about 30 seconds later there's a loud thud and our A/C is ling on the gravel on the ground beneath our third floor apartment window. Not cool!

Well, we went and rescued it - I'm grateful that it still works. We had to duct tape the little side flaps on, but it runs. And of course, its set to 79.

Glad it still works. We've come close to dropping ours once or twice too.

lol - the first year in our house we had a window AC and come fall I wanted it out of the window, so I asked my BIL to help me. I was inside, he was outside. I say "ok old on to the AC - I"m going to open the window." So I reach up and so does he and bam!! the AC falls out the window. We just put it in the shed and never told BF lol. He didn't pull it out the next year thank goodness since I have no idea if it still works (it was an old one to begin with)
