No Hot Water
UUUUGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!
So Joe was getting a ready for work today and after about 2 minutes in the shower he comes storming out saying "We have no hot water....we have luke warm/barely warm water but no hot water."
The I started thinking that last night when I took a bath that the water wasn't scolding hot like it normally is so we figured it went out sometime yesterday.
I tried calling the place we rent from and their after hours maintanence number (which is the residence of the couple that owns the property rentals place) I got answering machines at both. The office number say's to call the maintence number after normal business hours (5pm) well I called at the office at 1 PM,
2 PM & 3 PM and the after hours number at 3:30, 4 & 5. never once getting a real person just answering machines.
We are hoping its just one of the two heating elements and if that's the case Joe said he would try to fix it himself when he gets home tonight or first thing in the morning.
He then called and had me flip the breaker and push in the reset button (it had popped out) then he told me to let it sit and he would check it when he got home.
I really hope that the reset button did the trick or that its just an element, as I really don't want to wait until Monday to get someone out here to check it and then wait a few hours longer to get a new one installed if its the whole hot water heater.
Oh well, I guess those solar heated camping showers may get used before we actually do go camping.....lol

Been there Kat and it's no fun for adults but having a baby in the house has to be worse. Hope it just needed resetting.

Oh I hope it's something simple Kat!
We were without hot water for five days in April! Our water heater just gave out and it was a holiday long weekend!
Still, as soon as it was over we got a new one fitted in just a few hours!

How frustrating, hope it's fixed soon Kat. Shame on the maintanance people for not answering their phone or getting back to you.

We now have hot water
Joe picked up some heating elements and a new thermostat yesterday evening.
When he got home last night we took the cover back off and the reset button had popped out again. Anyway's when Joe got home he replaced the thermostat since the reset button on the old didn't seem to be working and what do you know....that was it.
He then said that the reason no one called back yet, was because if it was like when they put in maintence calls at work, they don't call they just show up a day or two later with a work order and the parts needed to fix the problem.
Sure enough at 9 this morning a man called and said he had a work order to fix the water heater. I called him back and told him it was already done. He apologized like crazy. Said that he called to check in at the agency and they said "We have someone with out water, you need to get there immediatly"
I told him what the problem was and what we did. He said that if we have any other problems with it (or any major appilance that the rental agency or owner of the house are suppose to take care of) to call him first and by pass the rental agency.

I'm glad you were able to get it back, Kat. I have btdt, and it was no fun. At the time we didn't have children, so I can only imagine what it must be like to deal with that issue as well.
