It just keeps getting worse. Someone shoot me now.
Sorry to whine and moan so much, but everything really just stinks around here lately. I feel like Schleprock.
Just got a note from DH saying that congress is cutting funding to public television, and he will be really lucky if he gets a third of the "big" raise he is supposed to get next month.

I feel like crying.

I'm so sorry Kim,
Seems like a lot of people are getting jipped by the government and big companies lately.
So many people losing their pensions..etc.

I'm so sorry. I've experienced the same with Gabe's bonus in the past. Hoping this is it for a while and some brighter days ahead.

...Who's Schleprock?

Thanks everyone- it can only get better, right?
Jayne, Schleprock is a character from an old Flintstone's cartoon- one of the Pabbles/Bamm Bamm variations. He always had the worst luck- you know, rain cloud over his head- the whole bit.

The excerpt below came from an email I got today. When I read it, I remembered your posting, Kimberly, about your husbands PBS job. You can click on the link to go to a petition to ask Congress to save NPR and PBS:
"A House panel has voted to eliminate all public funding for NPR and PBS, starting with "Sesame Street," "Reading Rainbow," and other commercial-free children's shows. If approved, this would be the most severe cut in the history of public broadcasting, threatening to pull the plug on Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch.
Sign the petition telling Congress to save NPR and PBS:
http://www.moveon.org/publicbroadcas...bv.dydwjLw&t=3
If we can reach 250,000 signatures by the end of the week, we'll put Congress on notice. After you sign the petition, please pass this message along to any friends, neighbors or co-workers who count on NPR and PBS."~~Jean~~

Jean, thanks for posting. DH got something similar at worktoday, but it just said to contact your reps- this makes taking action a whole lot easier.
Hope you don't mind if I cut and paste to its own thread.

Great idea! I thought about doing that, but wanted to be sure it was also associated with your posting. If you haven't already put it in its own thread, please go ahead and do so!Originally posted by Kimberlina
