Ebay rant
Here is what happened. I sold my son's paintball gun and tons of extras on ebay. Included in this were two hoppers that my son had. I personally didn't know anything about the one, but knew that although my son had stickers all over it, the other one was in working order. So, anyway, this guy buys the stuff, I ship it out to him, and I get an email back from him that he is not happy with the hoppers. He said this is broke, that is missing etc.. etc.. So, being the nice person, and wanting to make it right, I offer to get the parts that he gave me. Long story short, the parts did not come in , and I told him I would give him money back towards the cost. (the shells cost me $10, and I gave him back $41 also.) One part came in so I mailed that, and gave the rest of the money back. This morning I get an email that he had expected me to replace the outer shell of the second one as well. I was flabbergasted. I told him that as far as I was concerned, I held up my end of the bargin, and if he had wanted new, he should have bought new. I should not be responsible for anything else, and as far as I was concerned I was done. I feel I went above and beyond to make him happy. This auction was for the paintball gun and extras not two hoppers and the gun. I was worried that he would give me a bad rating for this transaction, but after today, I really do not care anymore. I feel taken advantage of. This is one reason I do not want to sell stuff on ebay. Sorry to rant, but I needed to get that off my chest. I am just P*&sed off right now. My thought is that he wanted to resell the stuff on ebay and basically make back his money and then some.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. Some people want something for nothing and you just can't make them happy. I bet you're right about him wanting to resell it.

You should have made him prove that the part was broken. I bet that was a big fat lie too.

I'm sorry you had such a bad buyer.
That's why many people have had to put disclaimers on their sale ads-- "item sold as is, no refunds, please email me with questions before bidding"-- that sort of thing.
