Aaawwww Graci...I'm sorry to hear it. Dd#2 got 1/2 of her front tooth broken off by a dog wearing a muzzle when she was about 12. It was the day before she was going to basketball camp. We had paid in advance for the camp so she had a broken tooth for the entire camp. They can fix the tooth to look though, that's the good news

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Oh no!! I hope he is alright and that the dentist gets him all fixed up.

Glad the rest of the day went well other than the accident.

Hope he isn't hurting. I knocked off a quarter of my front tooth when I was about 15. Hope you can get it fixed soon. It doesn't cost a whole lot just to have it filled in and formed.

I'm concerned that he won't take proper care of it and in the long run it will cost more to maintain. I'm gonna have the fill done tomorrow, then start paying "on account" w/ the dentist to have a perminent crown (cap?) done.

The dentist will work w/me ...1/2 now and pay the rest in 2 weeks...Good to have a (good) credit history w/ their office! I had all my work done w/ them on a "self" pay basis. So they trust me for it...TG!

Let ya know how it went tomorrow when we get home...appointment is for 1 pm e.s.t.

Lori, did you check into the neighbor's home owners insurance policy? It would be worth checking into, since he was injured on their property, the insurance might pay for it.

Neighbor's are elderly...My ds shouldn't have been goofing off over there in the first place. They have the swing up for their grandaughter who ds can't stand. She's a little hoyden (can we say Elmira...I will love you and squeeze you to death...hehehe).

I'd hate to have their homeowners insurance premiums raise as they are on a fixed income.

The dentist appointment went well...ds didn't crack it deeply and the repairs were made w/o novacain. I'm still concerned about the repair maintanance, but Matthew has been taking care of his teeth w/o complaining since the repair was made.

It ended up running $141.00 and I have to send the remaining balance of 91.00 out next week. We'll see how it holds up. If it's going to have to be redone repeatedly, I'll take permanent measures. We'll see.

    Talk soon,
    Graci

One fill I had done lasted over 12 years. Some others have only lasted 4 years or so. I think it just depends on the dentists and the materials they use. The fill that lasted me 12 years only came out because I was eating a bbq rib and chomped down on the bone accidently. Otherwise it probably would have lasted me forever. All but one of the fills has been a perfect match to my teeth also so I don't think I'll ever get a permanet crown but I'm a whole lot older than your ds. Good luck with fill and glad he didn't damage it beyond repair.
