I joined a while back and not sure if I ever posted, but seeing as I don't think I did, here's my intro!!
How did you hear about frugal village? I'm not even sure anymore... I've had it bookmarked forever!!
What interests you here? I just like being frugal, and challenging myself to save more money. I like the ideas other people have. Really helps a lot.
Do you know any other members here? I do not know any other members (yet)
How many kids? Ages? 1 Son, age 5
Tell us about yourself:
Hrmm, let's see. Well I'm from Philadelphia, PA. I'm 25 years old, and semi-divorced (that means haven't filed papers yet, but there is no "legal" separation in PA. Should have papers by next year). I DO have a boyfriend who is GREAT and supportive, and loves my son and vice versa. My son's father and I are on good terms, mostly.
I get depressed and have mood swings a lot (it runs in my family), so I like to cheer myself up by saving money, LOL. I'm also kind of OCD (can you tell I'm being very up front here?), and have to control that "control freak" urge... That sounded strange. ANYWAY! The bad stuff said - I'm also a generous and caring person. I try to listen when people talk, and I genuinely care about others.
I work full time, and my son will enter Kindergarten next year. He's home 2 days out of the week now for the summer because my mom is a teacher and can stay with him while I'm working, though she can't sacrifice her whole week to it. He goes to his school over the summer, too, since it's a private school and also a daycare. His last year there next year, then into public
Hoping to get him in to a charter school, though.
I really like nature, and spending quiet time with my family, and taking my son out to do fun things (as long as he doesn't get TOO cranky). The only things we really do for entertainment that cost any money are EAT (such a bad pastime), go to the movies with discount coupons once about every 3 months, and buy books (usually cheap used, and I resell them if it's not something I badly want to keep).
Do you own any pets? 3 hamsters (Shaggy, ShuShu, and Squee)and 1 rat (his name is Ardnak, but we call him Ratbert)
Interests and hobbies?
Reading (I like to read books written for adults, but I also highly enjoy "young adult" and "teen" books. I find them much less abrasive and more soothing at times), Scouring the net for info on things I'm interested in, Challenging myself to save more money (this is seriously a hobby for me), Watching movies at home, Watching LAW AND ORDER: SVU (love that show!), Playing MMORPG (once or twice a week), Self Improvement, Learning about different religions, Philosophical Discussions, Animals.
Thanks for reading (if you got this far
I'm kind of wordy...)
