    Default Taking a Break

I'm cooking meals for my VERY pregnant niece (who also has a 17 month old active little boy)

here's what I have done so far (I need to see what I've accomplished) I'm giving her some, and keeping some here for the freezer.

    1 meat loaf
    3 meals of fried rice
3 meals of chicken and noodles
    4 meals of ham/fetuccini/alfredo
    2 pumpkin pies
    2 meals of taco shells
    2 meals of hamburger stroganoff
2 meals of french dip beef
    2 meals of beef roast/potatoes/carrots

Still on my list to do:

    snickerdoodles
    brownies
    2 loaves of homemade bread
    carrot souffle
    party potatoes
    pineapple bars

I can see this needs to be a SHORT break.

You're a very sweet & considerate aunt, Denise! I'm sure she will greatly appreciate all the cooking you've done for her!

If she lived closer , I'd just invite her over for dinner several times a week, or pack extra stuff over to her occasionally, but she lives over 2 hours away.

Dd and I are going there tomorrow, armed with food and cleaning supplies. I told my niece not to cook or clean and we'd do it all when we got there.

It's very thoughtful and so wonderful of you to do this for her. I know she'll be very grateful.

We had a wonderful visit with my niece and great nephew!

I was sooooo glad I took my niece the food. I offered to put the food
in the fridge for her. She had 1/2 gal. of milk, 3 eggs, and a
    partial container of fruit cocktail.

She nearly cried when I started pulling food out of the cooler. She
says "now I won't have to go to the store" Then she DOES start crying
and says "who am I kidding? I can't go to the store. We don't have
any money." She wasn't kidding either. We sat and talked budgets,
finances, etc. They have NO savings, huge debt, and she really
doesn't have ANY money til payday on Friday. (even then most of it is
    gone for bills)

So--- I"m glad that my little offer of meals will be well used, and
we'll do it again in a couple weeks, before the baby gets here. Then
the church will feed them meals for a week or two after the baby
comes. I'll check things out after that and see what is needed.

I can see a copy of the TWG and Financial Peace are probably in order as well.

I'd say the "Aunt of the Year" award goes to you, hands down! Not only did you feed her family you may just have planted the ability for her to care for her own and pass on the generosity to others in the future.
