It is very hot here in the UK at the moment in the mid 80's and has been even higher in the South of England

I know a lot of people think it just rains here all the time and is cold LOL! Well, call it global warming call it nature but it is HOT.

I am a very pale English Rose, and with my Celtic genes, it takes me three weeks in the sun just to turn white ..........My natural colour is very pale blue

To keep cool I have been using our Air Con unit ( it is "Mobile" but only if you are an Olympic Weightlifter who has no respect for his Spine,) this thing is HEAVY!!!!!!!!!

Anyway that is keeping the Living Room cool and I have two fans on, one in each of the bedrooms.

The windows are shut to keep out the heat and at night I am spraying the bed and my nightie with cool water, this is VERY good for cooling the body down, as the water evaporates it lowers the body temperature Just be careful you don't want to end up swimming in your sleep LOL!

My dh has been cracking jokes about us laying in a "wet bed" ( ah, the English male and his schoolboy humour!)

The Freezer blocks are used in a "reverse Hot Water Bottle scenario" just wrap them in a pillow case first so they don't stick to your skin! I place mine on my Solar Plexus (midriff area)and it cools me down very fast.

I agree with you there, it is really hot hot here and even my cucumbers and tomatoes in the polytunnel are facing death without a shower...... On the upside we do not have this that often so we must make the most of it.
My kids go to bed with a small wet flannel on their head which gives them the impression that they are cooler than what they are.
Like th idea of the cool water bottle!
