Does this mean I have to clean?
DH went out and is hanging out with his buddy. I won't be able to sleep till he's home again, I'll just lay there worrying about him as usual. So I am awake. All the kids are asleep. Now what? Clean? Laundry?
I just worked on a mini scrapbook, finished it (only an 8 pic book). I have boxed up some of ds's school stuff to make room for the new stuff comming in soon. I have put away dinner.
Now that I have free time on my hands I don't have a clue what to do with it! Anyone else feel like this when you have time to yourself?
I'm gonna go check on the laundry situation. OOh, then maybe a bath!~~ Missy ~~

Alrighty then. Bath and laundry are both done, as are dishes, floors swept and mopped and trash has been taken out. I can't sleep...now what?

I hope you found something to do last night! Though my boyfriend doesn't go out without me (we don't have any friends except one, and it's a mutual friend), I often find that when I am alone (due to any other factor), I get bored and don't know what to do. I usually read then, or sulk, lol.

Sulking worked good for me to pass the time. Erick woulda gotten one heck of an earful...had he been here.

grab a good book, and curl up with the music on low so it won't wake the kids.
Ditto any fresh magazines from the library (I'm a sucker for the ladies mags, decor mags, garden mags and cooking mags)
I tape my favourite decorating shows and watch them when I want a break, also Star Trek and Star Gate so I'd have treated myself to one of those.
Speaking of treats, how about a long hot bath with some Epsom salts and candles, and doing a foot massage complete with pedicure.
Manicure is also good. Time in the night like that means it can cure up nice and hard before something happens to wreck it.
Facials, beauty treatments, leg waxing etc.
Then and only then would I do household stuff. But one of the things I'd do (oh I should put it in my mums' taxi thread because I usually do this while waiting for dh on my car day) is plan the menus for the next century or so complete with shopping lists.
Start thinking of it as YOUR TIME.
You can nap while the kids are awake (lock doors and windows and lie down in the play room, letting them crawl all over you) but that me time is precious.
If you start thinking of it as "yours" and a treat then it becomes time to really nurture yourself which most mothers of small kids rarely get enough of.

Well I am late as usual, but DO NOT...repeat....DO NOT...ever use alone time to clean! LOL! Those times are few and far between at my house and the dirt will still be there when everyone gets home! Eat chocolate, take a bubble bath, read a book, dance like nobody's watching....have some YOU time!
