    Smile Introduction

    Hello,

    I've been reading these forums for the last couple of days, and must say that you guys are a pretty amazing group. I've been so inspired, touched, and motivated by much of what I have read here, that I too decided to join.

    I discovered FV, ironically enough, through a reference from a shopping channel message board. For the last month and a half I have been on a quest to change my finances, so I decided that I was not going to buy anything non-essential for the rest of the summer. This has turned into a (kinda) fun game, where I like to see how much I can do without. And now, I'm beginning to realize more and more that I really don't need all that stuff that I used to buy. Moreover, I've also been working on my spiritual side (and I find that focusing less on material things quite naturally complements focusting more on the spiritual). As a result, I'm now beginning to realize that I really ought to simplify my life - both for financial and spiritual reasons.

    Discovering this website and this community has been exactly what I needed to get that extra motivation. I feel like I now have more information on how to start. I know that I cannot do a complete 180 in a day, or even a month. But I am prepared to begin the journey, even if it is just with baby steps.
