Question What's the strangest thing you have in your home or around it?

We have a cow skull in the garage. Nicole got it from Anthony's family farm & wants to boil it and display.

    Beat that

What kind of pot is big enough to boil a cow skull? I'd leave it out in the sun for a year or two.

We have had a tarantula living next to the driveway. But I haven't seen her in about a year. Does that still count?

An R2D2 shaped soda cooler in the garage... DH won it in some kind of raffle at a convenience store.

Well, and then there's my father's ashes... in a box...in the garage.

They also found a beat up huge old stock pot in an old barn, lol..

I'd rather stick with my animal skull than your live tarantula, lol.

the strangest thing around my house *was* an air conditioner plastered into a window.
Imagine a 48"X48" window opening, with a 18"X24" air conditioner in it. Around it was plaster, cardboard, posterboard, ducttape - you get the idea. There was no glass in the window though.
We finally took it out last winter (we just replaced the whole window), but we often look around our house and say "what the f*ck was that guy (the previous owner) thinking!!!!"

other than that - people often wonder why I have a plaster replica of a dead cow skull in my living room.
Darlene - I think it would be so cool to have a *real* cow head. I'm jealous . . .

I guess it depends ... does the skull attract maggots?

The tarantula was pretty shy. We saw her on the driveway during a few sunny days in winter. Not much otherwise.

I have lots of skulls and turtle shells, feathers, rocks, sticks and the like...I have a Crow Staff in my living room, an actual old Kachina, an ironwood statue of a buffalo... my husband is a Lakota Sioux, we have lots of strange things.

I'm a pagan, so I have an alter with lots of pentacles, homemade candles, etc.

I have a certificate framed on my entertainment center that DH gave me for Christmas a few years ago. It's my ownership certificate saying I own him. He even has his own 'bar code' and a big message about him giving himself to me for life. I reference it when he's being a butthead. LOL.

I have tons of paintings in my house, but one by my front door always gets a second look. It looks like any other Bob Ross wannabe of a moutain scene, lots of trees and a lake. Except if you LOOK at it, Bigfoot is coming out of the trees. It was a present from Frank Pollard, a nationally known artist who's a good friend of mine. It cracks me up.

Here are a few links. You can google him and get more:

    http://www.dogmaticchicago.com/frankpollard.asp
http://www.bridgemagazine.org/1_03art/speh.html and so on. He kicks butt.

We also have a 9 foot Harvester Scythe, all old wood and rusted all to hell hanging on our wall, in the middle of the swords and axes and knives and other such fun weaponry. DH breaks it out for Halloween sometimes.

We have a rabbit skeleton in our garage. I guess it got caught by a neighborhood cat and went under our deck to die. By the time we found it, it was clean.

I guess it would have to be the jackalope that my dad gave to my oldest son. It was mounted so he could hang it on the wall. My dad use to do work for a guy that did taxadermy(?did I spell this right?) work. We finally had to throw it out cause it fell off the wall one too many times, and came apart. That is one little fellow that I won't be missing!
