    Default Interesting Study

On the local news the other night they were looking back over the years at what winter will be after such hot summers.
They looked at % of winters with over 130 inches of snow
in the winters following summers with 90 degree days. ( 10 ft 8 inches or more )
    here is the break down.
If there was a summer with 10( 90*) days you had 40% chance of 130 inches or more of snow
    15 days 0f 90*days and it was 50%
years with 20 days of 90* days is 60%.

Yesterday was the 20th day here of 90* or more
I do not want to see winter.

I sure wish that the study applied for south texas.....we would have a 200% chance This is our 3rd month straight of having 90* or better..........however, I have to admit, we did have some freak weather..we had 4.4" of snow on Christmas eve(this past year)....first time since 1885.

My brother lives in Port Lavaca Texas
It was weird having hom talk about snow on Christmas.
Usually he's in the garden picking veggies.
On this hill we get alot of snow and if its worse than last year we won't get out til spring.

Holly...What was so weird about the whole thing is that we are in Corpus Christi..we had 4.4" of snow...my parents live 70 miles north of here(Beeville)(48 mi south of Victoria) and they had 10"....and San Antonio is about 90 miles north of them and they didn't get anything. But the weather here is retarded anyway..I hate it...I want to move back north.

His wife had never seen much snow. A flake or 2 when they were at Fort Hood.
They were loving it . My brother said it reminded him of home when mom and dad were alive and we had snow on Christmas.
So to him it was bitter sweet.

I try to hibernate in the winter anyway. Might want to be sure to stock up early on food and art supplies this year though. Also might be a good time to get serious about my next book project. Winter is a very creative time for me and since I work from home anyway I get a lot done then. Bob on the other hand starts talking about moving south when the first flakes fly.

Holly don't even THINK of sending that white stuff down to me or I'll have to get out my and get you! j/k

I'm in the northern section of Broome county and we get a lot of the snow you do in Central NY, yet go 5-7 miles down the road and it's like another world! Go figure!

I hope we don't see a lot of people freezing to death this winter because of the high cost of fuel.
