Hi there!
Hi all!
I'm new here, and relatively new to frugal living. But I am finally trying to get a handle on our spending, build up some savings, and pay off our debt.
I feel kind of weird turning up my thermostat, switching off lights, and shopping at Goodwill when we just purchased a Disney timeshare, but that has been one of the things we've wanted for years, and we had a one-time opportunity for my parents to kick in $5000, so we went for it. Actually, I also think it will save us money in the long run, as we are Disneyphiles, and it is way cheaper than hotels there, as well as having a full kitchen so we won't get gouged on food.
Anyway, as I said, I'm trying to cut in places I don't care about. I don't mind getting a bit sweaty, so the air conditioning is set at 80 now. I don't care about fashion that much, so I'm buying pretty much exclusively used clothes. DH brings lunch to work. I have an exchange program for baby stuff with my friend - she's even deliberately waiting to get pregnant 5 months after I plan to, so we can swap clothes & diapers!
So I'm happy to find this board - I'm sure I'll learn tons of great tips here, and hopefully make a dent in that CC debt someday.

Welcome. The idea on getting pregnant is a good one. I should look into that when its time for baby making.

Welcome to the Village! Saving in one place is so you can splurge in another is a good thing indeed ~Enjoy that timeshare.

to the FV. I do the same thing with my frugality. I try hard to save in places so that I can splurge on occaission in another place if I want, with no guilt. Hope you find some great advice here on places to cut back.
