Tomorrow is the big day! *Updated*
Going to be moving dd into her new apartment. I just got back from going to the grocery store for lunch food & drinks for all of us for tomorrow. Leftovers stay there.
All I have left to do today in preparation is to go thru the freezer and pack up stuff she could use and Jack & I don't eat. Going to get an early start as we need to beat any rain...we're doing this with pick up trucks & cars.
Sad to see her go but so happy for her.
Week from tomorrow we'll be bringing Mark to college. wow.
Many thanks to those of you who have encouraged and hugged me the past few weeks as I get ready for all this. Time for them to fly.

I just can't believe the time is here already. I bet the first night will be weird for all of you.
I think you should get her a nice little houseplant and a card and write some of your best wishes for her. Then you can cry it all out if you feel it and she still knows how incredibly happy you are for her too.
Of course, she probably already knows that. You've been so wonderfully supportive with helping her get things all together.
I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

Little piece of home growing in her new home.
Thanks again for listening to me go on & on. I'll be glad when the emotional roller coaster ride stops. Crying now as she packs & sings. I'm gonna miss having her here so very much. Deep breath. Smile. Spread those wings & fly baby girl.~*Darlene*~

Hugs hon! It's way better on the other side, just have your little weep (even though I put on a cheery face, I do too--it's part of grieving an end of something wonderful) and then get ready because it's better stuff coming up.
She's going to have a lot more to say, and be even more fun to be with, it'll mark a new chapter in your relationship, and she'll always be your little girl still.
But this time without the stresses. Freed up to enjoy each other as adults as well as a good snuggly hug (and she will still need them-- seems Sylvia and I have talked more often, and more meaningfully in the 2 weeks since she left than we have in the last 6 or 8 months-- and she has had her little moments getting used to living with the other girls, needing a quick hug from her mum)
oh and best of all, maybe your dd will do as mine did and come home suddenly talking quite seriously about stuff you taught her and she ignored all these years.
With mine it was things like dejunking and cleaning. I swear I gave up on ever seeing her be a cleanie, she was such a little messie.
First thing she did, dejunk.
And came home to ask me how to get the soap scum off their new shower!!!!! (she and the girls moved into a house, but the shower has a wee bitty problem with soap scum build up)
Warmed the cockles of my heart I tell you!
Don't be surprised if your relationship goes from good to great!!!!
HUGS HONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back and she's all moved in. We got all the curtains hung and bunches put away. Got to meet her fiance's parents today too, very nice people and they are as happy about the kids being together as we are.

Didn't cry, I was too busy sweating & unpacking, lol. Did get a little misty eyed but left with a feeling of well being. She's really going to enjoy living there and has so much going for her. The world is her oyster as they say. One little bird safely in a grand nest, one more to go a week from tomorrow.~*Darlene*~

Wow, I remember when I moved out with my boyfriend (now DH) and we were so excited to be living in our "own" place!
It worked out well for us -- I firmly believe that people should live together before getting married.
Good for you for being happy for her and helping her with her move. Good luck to both!
Bright Blessings!
