Hi, I'm new...
This place looks like a good place to hang out. I was directed from another board to this site to read Homesteadmama's story about going one month without a salary. What an inspriational story!
I am a SAHM on the Canadian prairies who hopes to stay that way. I love my crafts and being creative. I have two dd, one 18 and the other 21. The 21 yo does not live with us. Dh works to support my staying at home, and claims he enjoys having me here because I save him so much money. I am in angst thinking it might be time to re-enter the job market if I'm going to do it. Though I'd hate working for someone else.
I look forward to learning more about frugality from some very talented and able people. Thanks for making this board such a wonderful place to visit!

Welcome to the village peanut, I know you'll like it here.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Oh welcome Peanut!!!! I'm from Kamloops over in BC and another Canuck!
I am also a SAHM who just popped the last one out of the nest in August. Ds left last year, and dd left in August. 25 and 22 they are, and I'm still SAHMming it up at home.
I used to be an RN, who came home to homeschool our kids thru high school, and then stayed home. Life just works better for us that way.
I've had and have health issues, but even if I didn't dh and I figured it out that me being home, working frugality, and going without 2 vehicles (we run just one) means at least a good part time job income we would need if we had a second car, and I wasn't so frugal.
I know it's against the mainstream and there isn't a lot of local support, which is why it's nice to come here and find a lot of frugal minded ladies (who work outside the home or are stay at home types) who share the same interests in frugality, simpler living and so forth.
