    Question Power outages?

Our electric comany just issued a statement saying that unless people conserve electric, there will be power outages due to gas shortage starting tonight. Anyone else think that they will be losing electric? Our lights started blinking last night, and still are today.

I have the lights off, have filled the tub and washing machine, made extra ice, and filled water jugs.

We won't because we live in Canada. We've been warned though that both electricity and agricultural items will be going up in price all across Canada.

This is world wide, not just North America. We've also been warned to expect higher prices for gas and to expect it to get to $1.50 per litre and not go any lower, meaning our electricity, heat and any item transported by truck will be going up.

I didn't realize that electrical production was linked to gasoline --- I guess I thought that power plants were coal fired or nuclear or water powered. I suppose that given the days of cheap gasoline, its no wonder that it hs been a source of energy to produce electricity.
