My Points and the Red cross
For those who use my Points, don't forget you can donate points for money to go to the Red Cross. I donated 2000 today. For those who are short on cash right now but have points built up, it's a good way to help out the Disaster releif.

on the left hand side of the screen there are 2 tabs. A blue one that say's EARN Points and a green one that say's Redeem. Click the redeem tab so it's on top and in the drop down menus there is one titled "Charitable donations" under "Select by Catagory" or under "Select by Merchant" you can go straight to "American Red Cross".
You have to have at least 500 points and I don't have that many as I just turned all mine in, but I did turn in mine on another points based website.

I donated 800 lastnight...
Here's the email I got....
******************************
Dear Tammy,
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the Red Cross is launching the largest mobilization of resources for a single natural domestic disaster. The response includes sending nearly 1,900 staff and volunteers into the field in the next few days, and sending more than 250 Emergency Response Vehicles out to provide food and water to affected residents.
You can help by donating Points to the American Red Cross. MyPoints will convert your Point donations into a cash contribution to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs. When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, and health and mental health services to address basic human needs. In addition to these services, the core of Red Cross disaster relief is the assistance given to individuals and families affected by disaster to enable them to resume their normal daily activities independently.
Together we can help those whose lives were devastated by Hurricane Katrina to receive the critical care they need. Both MyPoints and the American Red Cross appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
The MyPoints Team
