Wanna know how i spent my evening???
Well, it started out innocently enough. I was sitting watching tv, rocking ds2. I ran my tongue across my teeth as I often do when I am watching tv. It's a habit i have, i don't know why i do it. some people chew their lips, I run my tongue across my teeth...but I digress. So i get to my third molar in the back and pow! yes pow! the tooth pops. half of it i swallowed and the other half i spit out
I call Dh to tell him, and he tells me he is bringing home a guest for dinner
But he was already on his way. The guest enjoyed the spaghetti I made (you know, it's always nice that dh and the kids enjoy it, but it is sure reaffirming to your culinary skills when a guest asks for seconds!) Then we set up a sweatshop style cold calling dentists system. all of us on our phones trying to find one that is open, as I am throbbing in pain. We are all calling and not comming up with even one that is open, taking emergency patients and accepts making payments instead of full payment upon service. Noone, nada, nuthin, zip, zilch. And the one I DID get on the phone can't see me till Thursday! He must be on something if he thinks i will just sit around with exposed roots till Thursday. Maybe he was snffin the happy gas.
So in pain that tylenol and ambesol isn't touching, we finally decide on going to the ER. Whee fun. Isn't it always fun to go sit in a room full of people that have had pretty horriffic injury?? I felt bad since I wasn't in any life-threatening injury or pain that compares to theirs.
Three hours later I am seen by the doctor. The doctor it seems isn't versed in dentisrty (imagine that, being that the guy isn't a dentist) and after poking around a bit has diagnosed me with a "Fractured tooth" and as you could gather, the root is exposed. Which is why it hurts. Yuh-huh. That took him five minutes. The nurse came in and drugged me (Vicodin) and gave me my papers that proove that the throbbing hole in my mouth is from a fractured tooth, just in case i need to take that to a dentist, in case s/he can't diagnose it. And I was given a perscription for more Vicodin to take the edge off the pain thru till at least Tuesday. (That in itself is a lifesaver though. I would be a wreck if i didn't have SOMETHING to help it stop hurting). So Tuesday morning i can call around and find an office that is open and see what i can get for maybe root removal.
Do I know how to have fun or what??
rofl that's how my teeth are gonna look at this rate!!

I'm not sure where you live, but this works great. It's like, what the dentist puts on a gum, before the novacine shot . It is sold over-the-counter at pharmacies or Wal-mart
