Check for matching progams at your work

If youa re making a donation to a charity for hurricane relief, please check with the human resources department at your place of employment to see if they have a matching program. The bank DH works for will match employee donations to approved charities (and the list is long) dollar for dollar.

Get the most out of your donation.

The major company in our area, EASTMAN (Kodak) is doing that. I just finished looking at the article on our local news stations website.

I just got through checking to see if the company my dh works for would match funds that I donated. Nope!

The new job I start on the 12th does - so I'll be there! Also, our apartment complex is encouraging everyone to donate $2 and they'll match the total - DH is going to go down and see what the max they'll match is, we'll probably give more than $2 each.

At work, our Charity committee takes on a project (either a personal one, like raising money for an associate, or a big one, like a local charity or emergency fund) and if they raise money from us through that, the company will match it. This year, we made $1500 for one of our fellow associates who was in a car accident, and the company matched it, making an impressive $3000 check to give to this woman and her family.
