    Default yikes! ekk! ack!

We have a mouse in the house! I have seen it and it is a big mickey! Fat, cheeky little mouse!

If anyone has any hints or trips on getting him/her lemme know. The mouse has got to go!!

My cat won't come inside, so that's not an option.

I had one in my dorm room in college, and I didn't really want to get an actual mouse trap, so here's what I did (on my father's advice):

Set up a trashcan (at least 2 feet tall, with smooth sides) somewhere next to something a mouse could climb up and get in to. Put a saltine cracker with peanut butter in the trashcan. The mouse will smell the peanut butter and climb up whatever you have the trashcan next to and jump in the trashcan and he won't be able to get out. Then you can safely "relocate" him.

    It worked for me...

Ewwww....I saw a mouse in my house last year (?) I freaked out. We had a small mice problem in our basement. I woke Dave with my screaming. Not sure why I was so freaked by them...I think it was just the fact that it was *in my house*

Anyway, I digree I'm not sure what Dave did about them...all I know is I haven't seen one since that night, and I am RELIEVED!

I hope you can get rid of yours soon, Missy!

*eta: my fil had a squirrel problem in his yard a couple of years ago, and he bought "have a heart" traps. He lured them in there, and then relocated them.

About a year ago developers bulldozed a VERY run down trailer park behind our house. The next day we were invaded by mice. Many mice. We tried the humane traps and they just kept coming back. We tried the wire spring traps, but I didn't like dealing with mouse guts and within a couple days they got smart enough to get the food off the trap. Well, they might have been smart enough not to set up the trap, but I wasn't. I smashed my finger trying to set one. Anyway, we finally broke down and bought one of those plug in things that make the high pitched sound (that we can't hear) that deters the mice. I haven't seen one since. BTW, we have 2 inside cats and they never even caught one mouse.

eek!!!! We live in the country,by several chicken farms,so we get some every now and then. We had one when I was pg with Jayme and I told Steve that thing was HUGE! He was like "They're all huge to you.." Which they are lol,but this one was big. Well,I didnt see it for a few days and thought it was gone. I went to get Jackson some clothes oneday and opened the drawer and found out why it went missing........IT HAD BABIES!!!! I bout broke my neck getting out of that room. I thought for sure with all the excitment of me running and screaming,I'd go into labor LOL Thank goodnesss I didn't!!

Anyways--The mouse wouldn't leave the babies and Steve got the shirt it made a nest in and took them all out and relocated them FAR away

I'm hoping "yours" is just a little chubby!!!!! ACK!!!

Oh Lord, let it just be well fed!

    Operation Catch Mickey

We got mouse traps (sorry, not the humane variety), baited them with peanut butter. left em out last night. Nothing. Today we moved all the major appliances and cleaned behind them...plenty "evidence of mouse life back there. Cleaned everywhere with a bleach solution. Just when we thought we'd heard the last of "Mickey" we heard him again (Yes him , I am hoping this isn't an expecting female). So now we thing we have cut him off from his food source, except for the peanut butter on the traps. None of them are where the kids can reach them, but I am terrified of them catching the mouse barehanded. Just typing it gave me the willies. I can hear him chewing, but from where??

    Alright Mickey, now it's personal!
