    Exclamation The storm is over!!!

First I want to thank everyone for your prayers while my family was going through another hurricane. They worked. We had winds at 50mph or higher from around 6pm on Friday night to early Sunday morning. We never thought Rita would get out of here.

Our house did fine during the storm. I told my mom that we had lost some shingles on our roof but I was mistaken......what I heard was them slapping against the roof and branches. Everything was pitch black and scary. I'm so glad it is over. We were without power for exactly one week.....I won't bore you with the stuff that happened over the last week. I will just say I'm so glad it's over. We got our cable back today so that is why I'm finally able to post on here. Our airconditioning is out but Malcom just called and said someone is heading to the house any minute to repair it.

Jacob did great considering how terribly hot it was. My son is a trooper and he actually helped me keep my cool when I wanted to loose it. I didn't want to get upset around him.

I've got a lot of catching up to do not only here but around our house too. Thank you again for your prayers. Please continue to keep the people of Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers. There are so many people that have lost everything!!!

I am glad to hear you were safe and didn't lose anything. I think the people in Louisiana have had enough storms to last a lifetime.

Bet you have some stories to tell that young man when he gets older. Glad you & yours are ok. Hoping the big storms of 2005 are over & done.

Very relieved to hear that you, your family and your home faired pretty well Daphne. I think often of the ones who didn't.
