    Default Ouch! I spent $400 on groceries in one swoop.

    I only get to go to a military commissary once or twice a year. So, when I go, I do some stockpiling. But there were also a bunch of "oooh! that looks good!" purchases.

    Among other things, I bought
    * 15 Jars Nutella
    * sharp cheddar (10 1/2-lb packages)
    * chicken Kiev (8 servings)
    * citrusel, sucrets, acne wash, dental floss
    * 6 packages pork
    * 20 bags frozen veggies
    * 6 bags pierogis
    * 4 bags packed FULL of produce
    * etc.

    You get the picture. The back of the truck was packed.

    But $400. Ouch!

    $400 is a big shock to the system but I'm pleased you've got it all stocked in your home now. It must put your mind at rest knowing that you've got that behind you.

    Wow! That's alot of produce, do you make veggie dishes & freeze them? Here, they would go bad on me before I got to use them if I didn't.
    Enjoy all your loot and I'm looking forward to seeing your posts in the what's for dinner thread as you make all kinds of good stuff for dinner.

    Yes, it does get me a lot.

    Now, I had DH and the kids with me. So that's why we bought $7.50 worth of gourmet sauerkraut ... and chipolte chili sauce ... and Halloween candy ... and ....

    Also, the total includes $50 worth of wine that I picked out at the Exchange. So, $350 + the wine. But those 7 bottles will last a long, long time.

    Well, I'll probably have to hit the em fund up for around $100 because of my spending binge. But I'll try to build up a surplus of cash before we get to the commissary again.
