    Default We had a leak!

We've actually had this water leak for OVER a year. I first started calling in July 04....I was always told " I'll let him know" or "I'll write you down.." ...." I'll tell him but he gets the worse ones first.." and once "he only responds to MAJOR leaks"
Then I started writing "Leak near the road" on my water bill every month LOL

So,a year of phone calls, noone even bothers to come out and look. Now,it's not on our end...so my water bill isn't going up or anything but still...they should've came to fix it MONTHS ago.

The last few days we've noticed more water down below our driveway. yesterday while we were cutting the lawn,Steve said it looked to be "bubbling" out more. Today we look and I poke a stick in the MUD (it's been leaking a yr so you can imagine how wet the ground is) and water shoots up everywhere!!
It's reaching at least 5 feet tall and hitting the ground 5-7 feet away. First thing that pops into my head is "MAJOR LEAK",...I run up to the house and call the water co. It being Sunday so you have to go through an act of congress just to talk to a REAL person. She takes the message, says she'll call "him".He calls back about 5 mins later and says he'll come over and look.....He says they have noticed the "last few days" they were losing water, but couldnt find any "MAJOR" leak....nothing so big that would account for ALL the water loss....then says he'll "call the guys in" to fix it.....30-45 mins later some guy comes and says "Yep..it'll have to be fixed." ( ya think???)
He tries to fix it and once he moves some dirt (MUD) around he finds FIVE leaks in ONE pipe!!! Says his "helper" is on the way and bout that time his phone beeps and the "helper" needs a ride (??) He leaves...comes back 20 mins later and it takes them...get this...ALL of 30 mins to fix. I was so aggervated. I had been calling for a year and noone would come out, when it finally gets "Major" it takes 30 mins to fix Thats a lotta water wasted in a year!!

Glad it's fixed. Prob take 6 months for my yard to dry up!

I am glad that your leak is now fixed... I know how it is to get a real person out for a real emergency on a weekend... Hopefully there will be no more leaks.....

We had a leak like that once. It only took a week to fix. The water dist and the county argued about whether it was fresh water or winter run-off. The town water tank had to get 2/3rds empty before the water dist, decided it was fresh water...duh

Well at least you didn't have to pay for all the wasted water

Yes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.
