Paypal question
Do you ship to a unconfirmed address? All my auctions say confirmed only... people are still paying me with unconfirmed addresses

I just got one tonight and it's from a new ebayer. I emailed to ask them to confirm it,but I dont know if they will.
If I ship the items and the person does a charge back, will paypal cover it if I have proof that I mailed the item....delivery confirmation??
(It was an instant payment)

Tammy, I see this alot at work (The UPS Store) when people come in to ship their items.
I should add that we've never had anyone call and tell us that the package didn't make it or come into the store saying it was sent back to them because the address was wrong.
Sometime it may be that they just give you the street name and don't add the ST, RD, DR, AVE, etc to the end of it. 99% of the time when we enter what the paper work say's the software will correct it by adding the appropriate ending as well as the +4 part of the zip code.

it's not about real addresses or lost packages.A confirmed address is,I think a registered bank account or credit card.
When someone signs up and gives there address, bank info,cc info...it's all the same address. However,if someone steals your ebay and paypal passwords, they can bid,pay for and have items shipped to their home instead of the actual person that won the accounts. Does this make sense?
I can bid on something...say a gift to my sister and have the item shipped to her by changing the info on my account. To the seller it will show a unconfirmed address.
I hope someone can make sense of this lol it's hard to explain.

I get it too Tammy, I'm just saying that the majority of the paypal print offs that people bring us say unconfirmed address and we've yet to hear of there being a problem.

One of my very first sales was to an unconfirmed address. Money went through fine and so did the final sale. The buyer was having everything shipped to her work address. Could be she didn't want hubby to know what she was getting or wanted to remain annoymous on ebay for security reasons. I ship to unconfirmed addresses and all the time and haven't been burned yet but there is always that first time.

I've been burned before and dont wanna go thru it again. If it was a $10-$20 item I wouldn't worry so much, but this is over $100. I'm thinking it may be ok.She just registered so hopefully no one had time to steal any accounts info lol
Unless someone is using her name and credit cards LOL
I worry to much....!!!
