There's another website I seen earlier this year.Not sure if it was an Alabama site,or something nation wide but I was looking on there and seen a picture of an ex boyfriend of mine!!!

I couldnt believe it!!!!

Just wanted to add in that the Sex Offender list isn't all cut and dry. I have a family member on the list (though I didn't see his pic!) His GF was 16, he was 17 and turned 18. They both were in the same h.s. Her family prosecuted. Due to no gray area of the law he's on the same list as rapists and child molesters. Its very sad!

What I liked about this was that I know that I'm looking at a pic of an older man and his crime was with a minor under 13. You KNOW he's a sx offender adn not just that gray area.

We are aware of someone (not in our community) in this same situation.

Our state also has its own list online.

The closet one to me is 0.66 miles (How scary is that) There is about 60 on list within 6.00 miles (that's even more scary)

It stated that Oregon does not release that kind of info, not until Jan of 06.... But months ago I was emailed this link that had way too many on it in my area, so I am not sure why the particular site above can't have this info.... I was horrified to learn this morning, that the suspected 'Alphabet' killer (he killed young girls in Rochester, NY in the 70's) was found dead in a town about 25 miles from here.

All my life, I've thought I lived in a relatively safe community and would just *never* have thought of a serial killer living nearby.

Tammy, I think he was hiding. He was in Copperhill, TN, just across the state line from GA. The news was all over town, rumor has it, he committed suicide (drug overdose) I have no idea why he was suspected.

I live near the TN/NC borders. but I know the area you're referring to. My aunt used to live in Ringgold. Her dh was the mayor of that little town, many years ago. Picture the sterotypical small town southern politician- seersucker suit and a cigar hanging from his mouth. LOL

Unfortunately every criminal check I inquire doesn't list anything for my state. It makes me very angry because my next door nieghbor in our duplex, that we rent, is a sex offender. He went to jail for four years for stachatory rape of his ex wife's 14 year old daughter. He told me one time that he had gone to jail and I asked him for what and he told me. Scum bag! He is this huge 400 lb guy and I'm not afraid of him. We just can't wait to get of of this apartment and we refuse to have any kids here.
