Default A funny about my poodle-Heidi

For those of you who don't know my Heidi, she is an apricot, toy poodle. She stands about 8 inches high from topnot to floor. She's really very cute and sweet and friendly when people come over, except she won't let anyone pet her till she trusts them. Anyway, last nite we're having all these trick or treaters and she's going to the door with either Gripey or myself everytime to greet them. She's just sticking her nose out, tail wagging and most little kids say "I like your puppy" etc.. Well once, I saw a car slow down in front of the house and saw 2 little girls in precious costumes get out. Heidi's standing looking out the door (we have a glass storm door) and the girls run almost up to the door and see her and turn around and run off screaming and crying! She didn't even bark... It was sooooo cute and funny at the same time. Heidi looks anything but vicious.... Anyway their Dad tells them to go on and ring the bell and they do but they are pertrified of her. I said she won't bite you..... but they just looked at her like she was a pit bull. It was funny. I think it made Heidi's nite

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Oh my, that must be up on the lines of Gary Larson's take off "When POODLES roamed the earth!"

Poor little girls, they must have had a bad experience, but I do think that dogs kind of like to feel big and bad sometimes.

The neighbors have a little tiny ball of tail wagging fluff and noise by the name of Fluffy. No bigger than a minute, and scared of everything, but so friendly and eager to please. When he met Dozer my old girl dog (border collie) he kowtowed to her beautifully which meant she was pleased to notice him and include him in her elevated circle. (Dozer was a bit of a snob)

I talk over the fence with him and startled my neighbors at first by calling him my own take on his name which is

Fluffy The Vampire Slayer! (he likes to think of himself that way I'm sure!)

Once they got to know me and my warped sense of humour they relaxed.

but I still say he feels bigger and badder when I call him that.

that used to be me Lisa when I was little! I was so scared of dogs, even very little ones. Not anymore, I would love to see Heidi. I bet she is so cute!
