Is there a CURE for frugality? A twelve-step program?
I remember an old college boyfriend telling me, "You're majoring in computer science!??? You should be majoring in MONEY!?"
Yes, even back then, I was interested in getting VALUE for my money. As a result, some people didn't want to stay in my life. (Like that old boyfriend!)
Even my siblings, who are frugal, don't ENJOY the hunt as much as I do. A great score at the grocery store might please them; it leaves me walking-on-air.
I seriously think that it's possible to go overboard and not enjoy the richness life has to offer -- because you're hooked on frugality.
For example, why am I in here reading the boards, instead of sitting outside with the kids on this beautiful fall day?
Because I'm fascinated with frual living!
So, in an attempt to balance my life, I will temper my flirtation with frugal living.
* I will enjoy precious time with my children.
* I will not clutter my house with (so much) 'maybe I'll need this someday' stuff.
* I will try to log on to the boards only after supper. For one week.
