Holly,
That is the most wonderful story! It made my morning!
and jarred a memory of me at my Grandma's drinking "grown up" tea in one of the baby china cups she saved for me. I used to get very excited!

What a sweet idea! You daughters will remember this breakfast for a long long time, tea with Mommy will be a special memory for them. I am sure it will conjure up a smile when they think back on it when they have their own little girls.

The ladies before were so right, you are a very special lady, you always see the bright side and are a sweet inspiration to the rest of us.

I don't make hot chocolate from a mix any more. Since I can't have sugar, I just heat up regular milk, add sweetener and a spoon of cocoa. Yep, plain old bulk bin cocoa for about .50 a POUND! I figure a cup of nice, hot, yummy cocoa costs about .05 more than plain milk.
Your daughters will remembeer this wonderul tea party for YAERS to come!
I hope my cocoa tip will make it so you can have it on your "frugal luxury" list!

Hi Lori
I have cocoa on hand and usually do make it with milk, cocoa and sugar.
But I didn't have enough milk to go around. I just happened to have hot chocolate mix for the last little while because I got it very cheap at Liquidation world in the summer. But I've now run out.
Thank-you everyone for your kind words. It is making me a little weepy....

I like to keep powdered milk in my pantry for emergencies but I find the price is the same as fresh milk here! And it never seems to be on sale. Any other Canadians find that too? Or if you ever find a deal on it let me know!
But I haven't stocked it for quite a while because it is so expensive.

I ditto! Every time I price it out, fluid milk is less or equal to powdered so other than it being shelf stable, and on hand in emergencies I don't bother.
Plus I've noticed when I use powder milk in pancakes, the batter is much thinner than normal milk. Even when I make it "stronger" than reg milk, with more powder than they say.
