Ladybugs
Does anyone else have a lot of ladybugs around?
They are in my house outside the house, everywhere!
I know they are a sign of good luck. I dont kill them, I put them back outside. I wonder if this has anything do do with the weather.

We always get a little swarm of them this time of year. But my sister REALLY has them. I remember, about 5 years ago, the problem was so bad she would go suck up about 50 dead ladybugs every day from the window sill in my nephew's oom.

We get them too. They seem to love my daughter's room and our bathroom. I like them outside but they are not welcome inside!

They're not a problem at our house but at our church they get into the lights. The kids in children's church kept staring at the ceiling lights where the bugs were crawling.

I'm not sure, but I thought the ones that get so bad this time of year were really a kind of beetle and not a true ladybug. I found a bunch on the porch, but so far none inside.

Hey,Hey I can answer this one!
They are ladybugs(by the way ladybugs are beetles). And they are going through super aggregation. We get them on mass too. They are ladybugs which are native to California but because this species practice super aggregation in the fall they are easy to collect commercially (a special vacuum which does not harm them) they are then shipped all over the states and Canada to be sold and used in commercial and private greenhouses for biological pest control. By this time of year the escapees are looking for a place for the winter. They usually gather on south slopes. They will not survive in areas with very cold winters, unless they are indoors.
And, yes if you are fortunate to have them you may have far higher concentrations of ladybugs and their larvae in your garden in the summer and no aphids!

Kimberly, a bit of extra protein for your sister. Oh, the vac, yes. It's more interesting the other way.
I'd like to have those girls in my garden.

We usually get a swarm of them too. We haven't had as many this year, but most years they are congregated in the corners of my ceilings. Well, they are welcome this year - we could use the luck!

Yes, we have them too..they like my attic the best for some reason..they are lots of dead ones on the window sills whenever I go up there.
They are especially bad at work, they swarm around the door. I walked into work the other day and had 3 of them on me.
