Default Grocery shopping - the good, the bad & the

UGLY! We set off this morning with the $75 in grocery store gift cards. We decided to shop the deals at Harris Teeter first to get our turkey for .19 a lb. So, there we got B1G1 deals - fresh broccoli, electrsol, pork tenderloins, arm& hammer detergent, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce. I also had a .75 off coupon for the detergent which got doubled. We spent $30 and saved $44!

Then on the Lowes. Here is where is got BAD and UGLY. I had a list - staples and pantry things we need. Flour, sugar, yeast, cheese, pasta, rice....DH wants to know where the meat is. "Why don't we have anything to eat????" Ugh.

He was the one all week crabbing about how he can get the best deals on meat at Walmart, so I figured use the GCs to stock up things in need to actually cook and bake. They did have london broil & 5 lb. bags of potatoes B1G1 and we got some chicken.

He starts being sulky...I can't stand it when he is mad. I finally lost it and started crying- I mean I had a list! He apologized and said I was right about him going to Walmart for meat. But, it ruined the hunt - you know?

Ugh, I know exactly what you mean. DH is the greatest sulker in the world. Drives me crazy! He complains all the time that "there's nothing to eat" but whenever I make something for him, he will not eat the leftovers! And you're right, it totally ruins it when they sulk. Hopefully you're feeling better now and next time, just leave him home.

You take your dh grocery shopping with you? It's so much easier to shop without my dh. Shopping in general I tend to do by myself. Men tend to take the pleasure out of browsing. That's half the fun! Good deals for you though!

Shadetree loves to shop with me and watch me get the great deals. No one ever showed him using coupons and hunting the deals, loss leaders etc. He gets so excited when I save money..
You made great deals don't let him get you down.
