Finally Seeing Some Light...
... at the end of the tunnel.
After six long years, DH is finally getting a chance to make use of some of his university education in the public sector. He's going today to Port Hawksbury to do his pracitcum teaching assignment. This means that from today (Nov. 14th) til sometime in mid-December, he'll be travelling back and forth to teach a highschool Science program. He's very excited and you should see him this morning -- he's all dressed up in his dress-shirts and ties. He's looking so handsome and sexy!
I'm so proud of him, but more than anything, it's a relief to be able to see him actually putting all this to work for him. We've been working very hard to get him this far -- he's already gone through four years of a Bachlor of Science, and now he's in the best school in the country, taking his Education program. I'm so proud of him, and it finally feels like a great relief has been lifted from my shoulders.
I will update as things develop.

Hello ladies!
DH came home today. He had a very interesting day. The high school he's teaching at is nothing like our old high school. Apparently, all the Grade 9 students get a laptop as soon as they enter the school. There's a giant pool and a working audiotorium, a huge cafeteria and a seperate section for each of the subjects -- Science, Arts, Mathematics, etc. Apparently it's a fabulous school.
This first week, DH is going to be mainly observing and getting to know the students and the faculty. He was very surprised at how disobedient the students were in his classes, but apparently his class is not as bad as some of the other classes. :O
Next Monday he has his first day of actual control of the class. Today he was just kind of walking around teaching the ones that were having problems in their lessons and telling stories, which appearently he did very well at.
He thinks he is going to get along very well with his assigned teacher. They have the same style of teaching, he said. And the way the day is broken up is just perfect for him.
All in all, he had a pretty good day. I'm excited to see how this goes. I'll update as things change for him.

I'm so happy for you two. To see all your hard work pay off is a great thing. I send good luck for him next week when he's in charge, and I send hugs to you for being such a great support while he's got his education.

Thanks so much, everyone! I'll post as the bigger stuff happens. Right now I'm just glad he's home. He has to travel across a piece of highway that stretches a mile long across open waters.

DH came home last night so excited -- apparently his teachers and instructors were so impressed with his vast knowledge of the sciences (not just Chemistry, but Biology, Physics, Math, etc.) that instead of waiting til Monday (Nov. 21st) to let him teach a class, they are going to let him teach a class today! I'm so excited, I can't wait to hear the results of his day.
