Are you sure you want to know? LOL!
Well, Kimberly and Tina ( strawberry) DID ask, but if you are easily upset PLEASE LEAVE THE ROOM NOW!
Many, many years ago, I went on my second trip abroad ( the first being to the former Yugoslavia)We were going to Spain OVERLAND by coach, journey time 24to 28 hours
Well, the coach did have a toilet on board and I had strong thigh muscles at the time as I used to do Karate, so I could hover pretty good
However, on a journey that length, well I did have to eat something and so the consequence of that........................(use your imagination for this bit
)
Well, we stopped off at a French Motorway service station ,Cafe, Restraurant type place and of course we all took the opportunity to use the Toilets..............so far so good.
Well I knew that matches were good for getting rid of Bathroom smells ( your own or someone elses
) so I was prepared.........................Now I don't know about you, but I don't like to sit on strange toilet seats and I am also aware that there other people outside of the door waiting...........and in earshot of er, my activities
so I put toilet paper all over the seat, a couple of good layers ( well you never know
) )
and ALSO some toilet paper INSIDE the toilet to er, mimimise any er, noise
Anyway, I get to the point where I am ready to vacate and being the thoughtful person I am I decided to" neutralize" with my matches, so I lit about three or four ( well there was a big line of people waiting outside!lol!)
Anyway, I did the match trick and threw them into the toilet, but of course they were still ALIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well with all that paper in there, the whole toilet bowl went off like a flame thrower
PANIC? Moi?
You bet I did! I flushed like a demon and wafted around my handbag trying to quell what had gone from the gentle smell of matches into the rancid smell of a raging fire
After a lot of international chatter outside of the door ( they must have wondered what the hell was going on!) I exited the stall, red faced and (to my horror )slightly charcoal smudged!!I bet, I did the fastest handwash in History!!!!!!!!!! ( I had wet wipes as back up so don't worry that I let up on the hygiene!)
That wasn't my only little interesting incident in France, but..............................

You sure know how to liven up a trip Karen.

Ps~Never knew about the match trick. With some of the... err... gasses some people leave behind, I'd be afraid to light a match for fear of blowing the place up.

Oh my, Karen! That IS quite some story. Around here you probably would have been arrested for trying to explode the toilet! I never knew people used matches in the bathroom- I just try to breathe as little as possible.
