    Angry Mice!!!!

eeekkkkkk, I was just sat a the computer and a little mouse ran across the floor, stpped, looked at me bold as brass and then ran under the bed . you would think with 3 cats they would keep the mice away, I suppose as its gone cold they are coming in from the field, the joy of country living LOL, I wish it would choose a different house!!

better pick up some traps later, ugh!

I think it is the cold. I noticed the other day them varmits trying to get to my puppies food. If that wasn't bad enough, I was going to refill puppies bowl which sits in front of the washing machine, was reaching over and noticed a varmit running around inside the washing machine! Uhhhhh!!!!!! It was running around in there (thankfully no clothes were inside, but a bleaching did commence after it was out! lol), like it didn't have any other place to be. Yuck!! Bought a large plastic bin with a tight fitting lid for puppies food so they won't be enticed there again. And, there are 3 traps out as we speak, and a hole I found in the garage with steel wool in it so they can't get back in. Just HATE them suckers!

    Bring on them baby steps...
    Step 1: done
Step 2: waiting on amount, hubby had followup colonoscopy, I had visit to ER with followup procedure
Step 3: to follow, won't know aim until things settle
Step 4: to follow, currently at 6%
    Step 5: grown child
    Step 6: huge mortgage ANNIHILATED!!
    Step 7: ahhhh....

I know what you are saying! We always get mice in the winter, and I hate the little things. Living in an old farm house, we are prone to getting the visitors. I don't think I'd ever be able to find all their little entrances. And our two cats are only casual mousers -- one more casual than the other.

DH keeps telling me that I need to take up the pet bowls at night, and I'm sure he is right. I just don't ever do it.

We used to live in an older terrace(Row) house that backed on to some school sports fields and we and the neighbours had mice.

They used to clog dance in the attic at night oh, and sometimes they got rowdy and sang too

One night the Burglar alarm went off and half blind with sleep and shock of being woken up, I stumbled downstairs, heavy object in hand ready to repel an intruder , opened the door to the living room, no sign of any one or of any forced entry, I saw movement and looked up to find a mouse going "hand over hand" commando style up the extension wire over the door frame MICKY had run right infront of the sensor

Now we live in much more modern home we don't ( touch wood) have that problem.............however, have had one of "Mickey's" bigger Country cousins nip in to our garden to see what he could find from under the Bird table ..........we have now changed the dining options and so haven't seen him for a long time.

We had two so far this year. One we caught in a trap. The other we caught in an upside down cup. By "we" I mean the royal "we"- Dh did the trapping and helped by dancing around like a nut and taking the credit later once i calmed down He then...ahem, we, i had a huge part in it i remember distinctly , placed the mouse outside and let him go free.

In the meantime before he got caught, i had tried to get our cat to come inside to do as nature would suggest. But instead, she looked at me like i was a fruit loop short of breakfast and ran back outside.

anyhow we're just hoping no new ones show up this winter.

I have been getting a few in my basement. So far my cat has been doing a nice job of catching them. Dh noticed one of my basement windows was starting to fall in and had a 2 inch space on the top of the window. He fixed it this week hopefully we won't be seeing any more little friends down there. Alive or dead.

Try peanut butter it works better than the cheese.

Rachael, I second the peanut butter. Thy can snag the cheese right off the trap, but the peanut butter they have to work at, and I never have a problem trapping them with pb.

if you have bird seed, press some into the peanut butter, leave some sitting lightly on top of it too...worked great for the one we caught.
