    Unhappy Ouch! I cut a big hunk out of my finger

    I was using my mandolin to cut potatoes for french fries. Of course I was NOT using the guard. The potato slipped and I cut a big hunk out of the knuckle of my thumb. It bled for quite a while, but finally stopped. It's not going to be pretty though.

    So, always use your guard.....

    Cheryl, I cut the tip of my finger right off with that thing!!! It bled like crazy cuz you can't compress something that has no surface! OUCH!!! You have my simpathy!!!
