Default What's going on at your house this weekend?

Gripey and I have done some cleaning (yes, he helped, I'm thrilled ), laundry, gro. shopping and now we're about to cook our dinners. I say it in the plural b/c Gripey's having a salmon steak grilled, sweet potato baked and a salad. I'm having some chili in a frito pie with lots of salad (I'm having a huge craving!). Tomorrow we plan to do very little. It's opening day of pheasant season around here....can't go for a drive in the country if you don't want to get peppered.

What are you doin' this weekend?

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Yesterday morning I went to Wal-mart to pick up a few Christmas presents and some meat, then I came home and started putting up the Christmas decorations.

Got most of the decorations out but will finish up today. (Sunday)
We need to take a drive to the butcher to see if he has finish dh deer that he shot on Monday.
    Maybe do some grocery shopping.

Yesterday we did some "winter cleaning", and Dave was actually doing a lot. Then we put up the Christmas tree.

Today we will probably visit my IL's who are home (early!) for the holidays from FL.

It's snowing though so who knows what we will end up doing.

    I'd like to:

Yesterday was spent mostly at Nicole's, we had such a nice time.
Today will find us shoveling snow, feeding birds, laundry, cooking a nice roast chicken and relaxing fireside. Oh I have to make out a christmas wish list too. Ho Ho Ho!

    Hmmm...busy weekend here !

Yesterday (Sat.) DH did one yard of his lawn service lineup for next week, putting him a 1/2 a step ahead. Then he and DS worked on clearing more of an area in the back yard next to the creek. Cutting more firewood is on the immediate agenda for them too.

DD was still at a friends from a sleepover, they were finishing the visual aids for her "Romeo & Juliet" project in honors English. She will still work more on that today.

I spent a lot of yesterday decluttering, rearranging rooms and making room for the Christmas tree. We will likley start on decorating today or tomorrow. Of course I spent some time on the computer...hee hee.

DS has also spent part of his weekend preparing for tonight. He will be giving his second sermon at our church. He surrendered to the Lord leading him to the ministry back in February. ((Beaming smiley with big happy tears here))

We'll attend both services today and then go to a fellowship after tonight's services. Sadly, our music minister & family are leaving us.

We have had a nice weekend here. Yesterday we went to a big craft show in town, free admission and did not purchase a single thing, actually did not see a lot that wanted to purchase. We then went to the gun & knife show (not my cup of tea but DH went to the craft show with me ) and walked through it. There was so much testosterone in the air, you could have cut it with a dull knife, LOL. Did not buy anything there either, thank goodness. We went out to eat afterwards and then spent the evening at home watching television.

Today is going to be a lazy day, just a little laundry and DH is finishing up weatherizing the house.

Yesterday and today felt mostly wasted. DH got stuck on a work related call from 9am - 4:30pm yesterday, and then again from 4:45 am - 9am this morning. And he only gets paid for one of them.

What we did actually do was get our Christmas tree, have a nice meal out, drive around and see some lights. And I managed to get all the Christmas stuff out, have the house mostly decorated, and decluttered a bunch of empty boxes/bags/stuff that we just don't need. I have a small stack of things for DH to list on eBay.

And I did a big jigsaw puzzle all by myself last night - 550 pieces - in 2 hours and 37 minutes!
