    Default Decisions......decisions.....

I am currently doing some paid fill in work in the church nursery. If I want, I can continue this permanently after the holidays. It would mean working every Sunday morning, most Sunday nights and every Wednesday night. The upside is we are there already so it is convenient. The downside is I will always be working when I am at church.

Secondly, the director of Amanda's preschool called today. A position has come available as a co-teacher for the 2 year old class on MWF. I would be working with the same teacher I worked with last year, so that would be a plus. And, it is only half the school year. The downside is that Amanda would have to switch to a different class in order to be there when I am there. And, this 2 year old class apparently has some difficult children. The other downside is that I would no longer be able to volunteer in Katie's class on Thursdays.

I just can't decide what to do. We sure could use the money, but I don't want to stress myself out so much that I am of no use anywhere. I am still trying to tweak my new anti-depressants on top of it all.

    Any sage words of wisdom????

No words of advice. But I work where my Dd attends school and like having the same hours and days as her. Just something for you to chew on.

Do what will make you happy in the long run. Will you be unhappy if you can't worship with the rest of your family at church?
Will switching Amanda be detrimental to her education? Or will a change in pace be good for her maybe?
List pro's and cons and do what would be best for you. Also - you should assign importance to your pro's and con's, to help you figure out what would bring you the most joy.

If it were me, I'd strongly consider doing one or the other. (I'd probably go with the MWF 2 yr. old class.....jmho) The money would really help and then you wouldn't be running in so many different directions and could actually work out a routine. Hope this helps.

Here's my idea. It sounds like the 2 year old class could use your help. And if there are difficult children maybe (?) it would be better for Amanda to switch classes. You could tell her that your at school with her just in a different room. About Katie maybe you could switch your volunteer day to Tuesday. Also about church, maybe you could be on call so to speak if someone else gets sick and is supposed to work there. This way you could worship with your family, make some money and volunteer for Katie's class. If the Tuseday wouldn't work for you either maybe you could talk with the teacher sometimes they need things done that you could do at home. HTH. Sorry about the rambling.
BTW just make sure you don't miss your medicine!

I would probably choose one or the other, but not both. For what it is worth, I have worked Sunday morning and Sunday evening in our church nursery. We had a speaker in the room so we could still hear the sermon. I enjoyed being with all the babies and toddlers.

Also, I have worked in the same class as my DS#2 and it went well. There were no big adjustments for either of us.

Like lilk mentioned, if the class is already having difficult children maybe it is best that your daughter is in another class anyway.

Good luck with your choice. I know it is a hard decision. Just do what is best for you and your family.
