Annoyed at the Mailbox!

I have a parcel and I can't get at it!!!!!

We have a group mailbox and a parcel box. If you recieve a parcel the mailcarrier puts the key to the parcel box in your letterbox.
Well there is something wrong with the key or lock cause I can't get the box to open

.
So I know there is something in there but I can't get at it! So here I am trying to jam this key in the lock this way and that way. Jiggling it like this and that. I am almost throwing a tantrum (much to the amusement of my 11 year old who is watching me LOL). I feel like a kid who is handed a present and I am not allowed to open it until someone says so!!!!!

It doesn't help that I don't know what it is???? And I am soooo curious. At least my 8 year old understands. She thinks it might be something for HER!
I contacted our post office and they said all I can do is put a note on the key and put it back in the box, perhaps it is the wrong key

.
So I now have to wait till tomorrow!!!!!
Hmmmm I wonder what it is?

Well I'd be annoyed as well.

Bet you won't sleep a wink tonight. Hope you can get your parcel tomorrow.

I'd be annoyed too, mostly because I knew it was waiting for me.

Ugh- this kind of thing used to happen to me. When I lived in a townhouse community, we had to pick up our mail at one central location, and if you had large parcels, they were put into a bigger box on the bottom. All the boxes were open in the back, and they were about 1/2' smaller all the way around in the front to accomodate the door. The silly mail sorter would put boxes in there that just fit on her side, but wouldn't come out at all on our side. So I could actually SEE and TOUCH the side of my package, I just couldn't get it out of the box unless I wanted to destroy it. It was extremely annoying and I always used to just shove the thing out the other side back into their sorting room, hoping they would get the message. If I was really lucky, someone would be there in the room still sorting. If not, I'd have to go to the branch post office which was 15 minutes away just to get someone's attention to get the parcel either taken back to the PO so I could pick it up, or put into the BIGGEST parcel box.

I SOOOOOOO feel your frustration.

Well I went to the box today, there was aparcel box key. I tried the parcel box IT STILL DIDN'T GO IN!. It is either the same key or the lock is broken

So here I am wrestling with the lock.....trying to shove the key in .....jiggling this way and that......LOL Well a neighbour comes to get his mail, he gives it a try and jiggles and shoves and then another neighbour stops and he gives it a try LOL!!!!! Nobody can believe the key won't go in.
So I decided to make a sweep of the area by car looking for the mailcarrier. I can't find him/her. So I phone the post office and I get the same story as yesterday. I ask them to phone the carrier and maybe I can meet him/her at the mailbox (they have a master key). Apparently, she doesn't have a cell phone!!! I can't believe it. In this day and age with that kind of job?
So I went and stuck a note on this key telling her the parcel box lock is broken could she please take the parcel back to the PO so I can pick it up there. So maybe, I will get my parcel tomorrow?
This has been frustrating, but kind of funny too. This will be one of those stories oneday......stupid mailbox.

By the way the PO said they will report the broken lock.
