Something weird is happening at work

(and I'm not talking about the computers like I was in the other weird post I put there earlier this week....lol)

We have 2 lines at work. Line 2 hardly ever, almost never rings. Usually we let it ring as when we use to answer it would be for the people that owned it (almost) 4 years ago when it was a Global Pack & Ship or the guy that use to be a partner here up until a year or so ago.

A few weeks back Chelsey swore they asked for a Kathryn and gave me the phone and no one said anything so I hung up when she gave it to me (also we never give that number out and the only reason we know it, is because we called our cell phones to see what number came up.)

Lately its been ringing off the hook. Yesterday, I answered it and it was a recording that inserted the name of the person they wished to talk to.....now for the weird part: The name was
Kathryn Leinbach.........My first name, Chelsey's last name. They called 4 times yesterday saying its a personal business matter. Today, I waited for the menu and there was an option that said "If this is not you press 4" so I did and told them there was no one here by that name (which in all honesty there isn't). Chelsey freaking out about it and told me to tell the owner. If they call back I will, or I may tell him when he drops of pay checks.

I honestly hope they don't call back as it kind of weirded me out as well.

That is wierd & no harm in mentioning it to the owner.

That's for sure, if it's about an invoice for a deliver or something that we've signed for in the past, I don't won't them coming after me for the $money$ (I googled the intials he gave me when the real person finally picked up and it gave me links to a mortage finance place and a credit help type of place)

It almost makes you wonder if someone did not try to get some type of credit using a ficticious name made of yours and your co-workers. It is scary and weird.

We get a lot of calls like that where I work telling us that there is a buyer out there that wants to buy our business if only we'd sell to them - maybe that's what it is? They always call saying its personal business and want to speak to a guy who hasn't worked there in 4 years.
