What are your favorite name brands for clothes?
As I wander through the 2nd hand market, I sometimes find great clothes.
Once, when I was pregnant, I found a French Navy top. I had never heard of that brand before -- but it was my favorite top for that whole pregnancy.
In the past few years, I've added to my list: Lands' End; Talbots; Liz Claiborne. For kids, I like Childrens' Place -- and of course, Lands' End and Talbots.
I like my Sorel boots and my Gortex jacket.
What are your favorite name brands? Do you have any specific items that you LOVE? What was your best name brand find on the 2ndhand market?
I need to make a list of labels to watch for!

J Jill is my favorite - their clothing is generally tailored for people a lot taller than me, but it is well-made and lasts a long time.
Other labels I look for: Ann Taylor, Liz Claiborne, and Gap.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)

I love Liz and DKNY. There are others that I like but those are the two that popped into my head. Of course I never buy them retail. Too much money. I love letting someone else take the big price hit. We also have outlets near me (Rockvale Square and Tanger) so I also get some things there a lot cheaper as well.

I like Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren, and Jones of New York. My favorite thrift shop finds have been a Beaver Jacket I picked up back in the 70's which is long since gone and a heavy leather bomber type jacket I still wear.

When thrift store shopping, I look for Land's End, Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren, Cutter & Buck (polo shirts), Children's Place. The best buy I ever made was a brand new Laura Ashley dress for dd, I paid $1.98. These are made in England, and retail on-line for upwards of $60.
