Thumbs up wooohooo, got another room almost done

I have been quiet for a few days.

On Saturday I started with a lovely phone call on the internet from a very dear lady. Lots of laughter, and giggles. She patiently taught me how to do internet phoning while I dithered and panicked. It worked so well and I am now ready for THIS century!

Then I had friends over with their elderly mum. They came for tea and stayed for dinner and it was one of those wonderful times with the elbows on the table just relaxing, catching up and cracking jokes.

This is the part of Christmas that I love. I plied them with fruitcake (and cheese!!!! which I'm learning from Karen) and shortbread and nachose with hot artichoke dip then pulled a roast of beef out of the oven, and put that on the table for dinner, with raw red pepper strips.

Definitely not haute cuisine, but comfy family fare.

On Sunday afternoon I got more paint, and yesterday I got the ceiling done in that room.

Today, Tuesday I figured I'd pop in here and wish you all a merry Christmas and inform everyone that my torrid love affair with Benjamin Moore continues unabated.

The colour is Desert Tan, and it's even in the American fan deck of Ben Moore colours. I'm loving it. I have Cloud White in trim everywhere thru the house, and there too.

When I'm done this room, I'll do a few little touch ups here and there, and the rest will wait till the new Year.

I'm feeling really good about all the paint I'm getting done. There are only 2 upstairs bedrooms to do, plus the kitchen cupboards which are going from a nasty fake oak on formica, to a melamine paint in Cloud White which is a white with the barest hint of golden yellow, not enough to make it read cream or ivory, but still white, just warm like a sunny day on white paint.

Happy New Year all, from the paint blob in the corner!

Your paint scheme sounds lovely. I love tans or khakis and white together, it makes such a lovely contrast and is so stylish and clean looking.

You meal sounds divine. My mouth was watering just reading about it. I am so glad you had such a nice time with your friends.

Have a wonderful Christmas and very happy New Years.

Progress for sure. I just wanna know one thing Margery. WHAT are you going to do when Mr. Moore finally has had his way with you and moves on down the road? Me thinks you'll need another hobby to occupy your time.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~
