Finished the last portrait of the year....
Today I finished the last 2 sub portrait (sisters) of this year and it rests safely w/ the client. But I did scan it and would like to share the story of what happened on the way to the clients home.....
I only stopped at Walmart ( you all know I work at Kmart) since that's the only place near clients home I could get prints made. Had I any other choice, I would have taken it! When I went to pay for the prints the moron behind the counter said....
"We can't let you have these. They were done by a professional."
Did this moron bother to ask me if I was the artist? NOOOOO. He just assumed that because HE can't draw a stickman, no one making a print at walmart could possibly be able to do better. Especially if they weren't dressed to the nines...I may look like I just got off Ma and Pa Kettle's truck but I really didn't.
I replied, "I know...they are mine!"
He then asked me if I had the original and I said yes...long and short...I signed off on the required paper work which had they had it in plain view, I would have done while I was standing in line. Because of this incedent, I was 20 min. late for my appointment.
I know that this really protects my copyright, but it burnt my butt that he didn't even bother to ask if I was the artist. errrrr.
Thanks for listening...and yeah... I realize it's a backhanded compliment..hehehe
Here's the scan....
