Woohoo I did it! THANKS EVERYONE!
Ok I have been stressing out big time b/c of Christmas and not going into debt. But I did it!! I did not put one thing on credit and still have $54.63 left.
I have not spent a dime on anything since 12/22/05.
~gas tank full
~all of Christmas paid with cash
~Christmas dinner paid with cash
~enjoying leftovers and homemade cookies Yummy!
~all lunches taken to work
~ran out of coffee - substituted tea instead
~taken coffee/tea to work -also drinking alot of water
~made kids lunches from pantry items
I didn't think it was possible, BUT after reading this site everyday, everyone here has inspired me. YES IT CAN BE DONE!! WOOHOO!
TOTAL CONFESSION:
I purchased all of my kids Christmas clothes (presents)from the thrift store. ($40 total) I bought both of my sons 6 shirts each, The Gap, Columbia, Abrocrombie ect. and washed/ironed and wrapped them. THEY NEVER KNEW THE DIFFERENCE!!! As my oldest opened his presents all he could say was "Wow mom, you got me a Gap shirt. I love it!" My husband just gave me a "wink" and mums the word. LOL They did also receive other gifts(video games, board games) but the thrift store helped me stay under budget and be able to buy them more of the things they wanted.
Thanks everyone for your ideas and even though I don't post often, I do enjoy reading everyone's posts!
Have a Happy FRUGAL New Year!

KUDOS to Lori!!!! Thanks for the update. That's a wonderful inspiration for the rest of us here.
I hope that I can do the same for next year. I just joined in- so I've lots to learn.
I LOVE the idea of getting the clothing at the thrift store and washing and wrapping!! that's Great!
I think I'm going to invent the 'new clothes smell" spray that we can spray on the thrift store clothes. Just like the aroma scents for cars that are suppose to make your older car smell like a new car!
