    Default Hello from SoFla!

    I've been lurking here for a few months and thought I'd finally introduce myself! My name is Heather and I live in sunny South Florida with my husband of almost ten years and our beautiful 15 month old dd, Lily.

    I work more than full time (10-12 hours a day) and I'm pretty desperate to cut back, but my income is $60k/yr and my dh is a public high school science teacher, earning just over half of what I earn. Our home is modest, but the cost of living here is very high. So I am a slave to my job FOR NOW.

    My dream is to work part time (30 hrs/wk or less) so that I can spend more time with my dd and finally have the kind of home life that I always imagined we'd have when we started our family. I'm sure we can survive - maybe even thrive - with less. So our strategy is lifestyle change (frugality) and hopefully, a new, less demanding outside-the-home job for me soon.

    Thanks for letting me participate in your group! I'm looking forward to learning lots of new skills in the coming months.
