Ebay, cancellation???
It's gone, cancelled. ????? I got this letter. Since I've never sold before I have no idea what's going on, help!!!!
"The results of the following listings have been cancelled due to
bidding activity that took place without the account owner's authorization:
4599539267 1989 Georgie Boy Cruise Air III 31' Gas
We have temporarily suspended the bidding account and we are working
with the account owner to prevent any additional unauthorized activity.
Since the account owner did not initiate these bids, fees resulting from
the listings in question have been credited to your account.
Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to automatically relist these
items for you. Instead, to relist these items you will need to start
from the beginning of the listing process, either through the "Sell Your
Item" process or through your third party listing service. We know
that this is an inconvenience and we apologize for the negative impact it
may cause you. We are working on tools to allow you to relist your
items without starting from the beginning, but they are not available at
this time.
Do not respond to this email, as your reply will not be received. If
there are issues that have not been addressed by this message, you can
contact us by clicking the "Help" link located at the top of most eBay
pages and selecting "Contact Us" from the menu on the left hand side of
the page.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Regards,
eBay Trust & Safety"
WTH this mean?? Someone bougt it now, but then changed their minds. Can they do that, and so quickly? I have to start all over?? The waiting and the watching and the hoping. This is a big ticket item, for $12,500, it's pretty major to us. And they can just jerk us around so easily. Ug!! I'm extremely frustrated and confused right now and so mad cause I don't know what's going on that I could spit!
If you could shed any light on this, please help.
TIA

sounds to me like someone used their account and bid without the permission of the account owner. That stinks. Hopefully if it is put up for auction again, someone honest with snatch it right up!

if there was a second bidder you can offer it to them as a second chance offer at their highest bid

That is what it sounds like to me too. I have heard of this happening to other people too. Someone "steals" someone elses ID and places bogus bids.Originally posted by Missy

Ebay hasn't put it back up for auction where it was or anything, I still have 12 hours to go when this happened. Instead I have to start all over?? All that typing, ugh! They haven't even tried to make ammends or answer my emails about what happened. Kinda ticked at ebay, can ya tell??
So, they won't be getting my money. I'm taking it to put on my sis's brand new rv sale lot. She just got licensed and bonded to sell. She said her average for selling has been about 2 weeks. Think I shouldn't have any problem selling. I've offered her money, more than I woulda been out of for ebay, to sell it for me. It's the principal!
Well, also because her dh will be working on the few things wrong with it I had listed.
It just seems not right that I would get screwed when I wasn't the person who did something wrong, ya know? Ebay is sitting really sour in me right now.

Been unhappy with EBay myself. Have you tried Craigslist.com?

Pam,
If you decide to relist your auction on ebay, you don't have to start all over with a new auction. All you have to do is click on the sell similar button and you don't have to worry about all the typing.
Although it is rare, I've had this happen with me too.
