Default from zero to nervous in 0.05

Ladies, I'm skeered. MIL says she has a surprise for the kids and that dh can come get it tomorrow after work. Those of you who know the whole MIL / FIL issues will understand how I go from having a perfectly normal day to cringing in terror at the words. And you'd know why by now, I hate surprises!!

Uh oh! Wonder what she could have gotten them. Hopefully she will not want it back. Sorry, but the jacket thing still sticks in my mind when you mention MIL.

When I hear something like this, I always wonder if it's something living, like a puppy or a kitten. Make sure to let us know what it is!

Your stronger , smarter, nicer and all oodles better than that woman, don't let her under your skin. She doesn't belong there either.
Hope your Dh doesn't put up with any of her bs. Don't have to take anything you do not want from anyone especially that, um woman.

I was thinking the same thing--but on a more grand scale...like a pony

Good luck Missy. I'd be nervous too if my IL's said something like that!

Good Luck Missy. I know I would cringe if my ILs said that to me.

I dunno yet, but I am all nerves today. DS said he doesnt' have a clue. He's being picked up soon. DH said he doesn't know either. He's promised to find out though. He knows I am not keen in IL surprises anymore. I'll let you all know what it is. If it is a critter, at least I'd rather it be here than there. But I can't imagine them giving us an animal of any kind.

I hope it all went well. What did she have for the kiddos? I just keep picturing her giving them clothes that she took from someone else .

Okay Missy, after getting the backstory on the jacket, I COMPLETELY understand why you'd be nervous. I'd be nervous too. Seems like you would have no way of knowing what she is apt to send home....
