If I'm home I always fall asleep. When you are out of your house it is generally frowned upon if you sleep elswhere. We are going to a party tonnight but I know we will leave about 12:15.

It has been years since I stayed up and watched the New Year come in. I won't be doing it tonight either since there is church in the morning.

We're not party poopers we just manage our time differently. Will the new year be there when I wake up, you betcha.

I ALWAYS fall asleep. I don't find the ball drop as entertaining.

This year I will be asleep early because I must get up to work the day shift at the hospital. Time and a half for 12 hours. At $54/hr for 12 hours, who'd pass that up? It's always quieter on a holiday because procedures are only for emergencies. No electives or non-essential procedures are done. We just keep things quiet, spend quality time with the patients, give a full showers, and good quality nursing care. It should be a holiday everyday!

I never watch the ball drop (just doesn't interest me), and I'm sure I will be asleep by 10 at the latest

Oh, how I wish we could go to bed! as I write this it is 11.25 pm and for some strange reason the firework fiends just couldn't wait until midnight

They have been going off allnight and it scares the furry pants off our poor dog ..........We have only just got over the ordeal of Bonfire night and all firework hoopla of that!
I wish they would ban them, the idiots blow up telehone boxes and other stuff too..........and sadly not themselves

What is it with the Brits that they like to mix huge amounts of alcohol and gun powder?

Last year we had to stay up for the same reason and just when

you feel it is safe to try and go to bed you nod off about 1 am and then get woken up by the rest of the morons coming out of the Nightclubs setting off their fireworks at 3 and 4 am %~*&^$*@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are not talking cute, we are talking HUGE loud explosions!!!!

So don't feel bad that you can't stay awake, we would love to have the choice!
BTW I have no idea what watching the ball drop is over here the "biggy" is watching Big Ben in London chime in the new year and Trafalgar Square ( also in London) is full of revellers, usually many thousands of them................ho hum, maybe I am just a grumpy old trout, but then again I was never that fussed about it when I was younger either, it's not like you can avoid the New year coming right?!

Fell asleep early last year. We're home tonight by ourselves. Nothing entertaining. Might fall asleep again early this year.
